Business Cards

Updated: Jan 24, 2022

What is a Business Cards:

A business cards are cards that have business information about a company or individual. They are credit-card sized paper and they hold your details such as name, contact details and brand logo.

Why business cards is important?:

Even though some people think business cards are useless but, they are important and essential because in most businesses, business card will be the first impression for potential customers of the brand and you. Business cards can also show your professionalism and seriousness of you because let's just say that if someone asks for a business card and you don't have one, you will be considered amateurish and not ready to do business with someone else. Another thing why business cards are important is it can be way more personal than email or online marketing because when you greet someone with a handshake and you hand them a business card it will have greater impact than any online correspondence and that's excellent for building lasting business relationships.

What to include in a business card?:

A business card must include logo, company name, your name, website and contact details. The logo needs to be visual to represent your company and what you stand for, it also makes your business feel more credible, professional and trustworthy. Company name is one of the most important things in your business card, company names are usually placed below the logo so when you design a business card make sure you have enough space to place your company name and also make sure to make it bigger because that's what everyone is going to see when they look at your business card. Always make sure that your name is on the business card in order for other people remember your name and also create a personal connection to your very own business. When you design both your business card and a website, make sure that their is consistency between the two, this is something that I have to bear in mind when I'm making own business card and website. Contact details can either be on the centre, right or left. Contact details such as your email and phone number can be placed on the left, right or centred it doesn't matter which one you prefer as long as it is visible for anyone to see by not making them really small in your business card.

Examples:

This business card is well designed. The business card has their logo in the middle to catch the eye of potential customers and audience also it is a good way to represent the company, email and phone number are placed below of the card. At the back, the company logo is on the left side of the card and 'your name' is on the right side, along with email and location of where the company is located. I like the example that I have found because this example meets the requirements of a business card like the logo in the middle and the name also email, phone number and city location. I'm thinking of doing the same thing as this example as I think it will be impactful to potential customers and employees that are probably thinking of working for them, I don't have much complaints about this example.

The second example is a bit different than the first example, the card isn't in a landscape shape and the logo in the top half of the card and details in the bottom half. This card includes all the details that is required for a business card such as your name, email and address and at the back of the card, the company logo is by itself and no further details added at the front. Personally, I don't like the business card because it isn't in a landscape shape as I prefer the card to be in a landscape shape like the previous example, the only thing that this example has achieved is the details like name, email and address. I will just stick with the first one as my main inspiration of my business card as I like how it is presented which in my opinion, the better one out of the two.

Business Card:

This is my final design of my business card. I would say that my business card is sort of similar to the first example, I put my logo on the side and my details on the right side such as name, email, phone and address. I didn't want to make my business card the same as the second example because I have explained that I didn't like how the business card wasn't in landscape because most business cards are landscapes shapes and small in size as well. The thing that I would improve on my business card is probably add social media logos, phone logo and gmail logo to make it even colourful and really professional like real life business cards and I would probably change the background to more of a black background and some red lines. I would also change the way how the texts are in place, I would probably my name text a bit smaller and moving it a bit down to the social media details.
