Climate Change Project and Evaluation

Updated: Jan 4, 2022

Greenpeace is a climate change campaign thats wants to help the planet from climate change. Their vision of a 'perfect planet' is green, perfect and peaceful world. Greenpeace is funded by people, they don't accept any funds from the government, this means that they are free to confront the governments that are causing destruction to the world and Greenpeace will give they're all to make the world a better place.

Target Audience:

The target audience are young people between the ages of 20-30 that are desperate for change and trying to make the world a better place for everyone.

My Idea:

My idea for my own climate change advert is to create a poster. On the poster, there will be a side that is all green with plants and animals while the other side will be dry and no signs of life. This will be impactful because this will make people sort of guilty of their life choices and make them change their ways to save the environment. The main title of the poster will be 'Change for the better'.

Examples:

The first example is a drawing of Earth melting because of global warming. This emphasises the ice from Greenland and Antartica are melting rapidly because of global warming, and above of the planet it reads 'Stop Global Warming!' these powerful words will make people to change their ways.

Second example is where the earth is in the bin, leaking water. The significance of it is that people now a days don't care about climate change and they are not doing anything to protect it. The title reads 'Don't Trash It.' This will make people to think about their habits that are potentially hurting the environment.

This particular poster is the most powerful message than the previous two because it explains that the climate is 'changing' and why we are't. These words will make people ponder it about their life choices and probably want to make a change.

Final Product Analysis & Feedback

My final product was sort of inspired by one of examples above. I decided to get images of a forest and a dry desert floor to compare the changes of how the climate change is affecting the earth. The quote 'Climate is changing! Why can't we?' is for the audience to reflect on their choices and actions that could be harming the earth and the environment.

I think the only improvements to make this print advert even better is to make it even more eye catching for my audience and make them ponder on their choices and quite possibly, making the world better place.

Here is the final product. The feedback that I have received is that the previous one looked like a child's work because of the text and liked the new and improved because of the arc shape of the texts as it lines with the planet earth. I decided to change the background from a forest to grass to make it even more greener and as for the desert side, I choose the picture with one singular plant, this is meant for my audience to reflect and ponder on the consequences of climate change and we must do something to save our home.

My attentions and ambitions is to help the planet from climate change and making this print advert shows it. The words that I used for this print advert should be life changing for people who are doing harmful things to the environment and potentially the cause of our problems in the future. I hope my print advert gives these people motivation to do something about it and make the world a better place in the future.

NOTE: I wasn't able to improve my final product because I wasn't able to transfer my work to another computer.

The final change that I was meant to add was the Greenpeace logo because with out the logo, none is going to know that is the Greenpeace product.

Evaluation:

Honestly, I could made my print advert even better if wasn't for my forgetfulness of not adding the Greenpeace logo but I think I'm sort of happy with the final result. I like how I added the before and after to show the effects of climate change and putting the main message which is 'Let's Change Now!' to encourage people to act now and do something about it. My target audience is people who are concerned about the climate change and its effects. They want to save the planet and if nothing is done, they fear the worse for the future of the earth so they will try to do things that could limit the risks of climate change by limiting driving or get an electric car that is charged by energy, don't throw plastics into the ocean as plastic takes thousands of years to decompose and re-use plastic bags that you get from stores or malls and not throwing them away etc. These are the things that I could have added into my print advert but in short sentences around the poster to promote recycling and not being wastefull.
